(Miami, FL) – March 10, 2008 – The Osmond Family is known for its world
famous singing and has been entertaining families for decades. But for
Donny and Marie’s nephew Justin Osmond, the journey has been
somewhat different. As someone who is hearing impaired, Justin can’t
always hear the music. But thanks to modern technology, Justin can
listen with the help of a hearing aid.

Hearing and Speech Center of Florida offers critical services to the
hearing and speech impaired across Miami-Dade County. The gala will
be held at the Fairchild Tropical Garden and includes dinner and a silent
auction hosted by Northern Trust. The party begins at 7pm.

”Every year, 15-thousand children in our local area of Miami-Dade County
are at risk of suffering permanent hearing loss. 50-percent of seniors
experience hearing loss which can unnecessarily impact their quality of
life and put them at a safety risk,” says HSCF Board President and M-
DCPS Teacher, Dr. Gemma Santos. “What better way to truly enjoy an
elegant evening out than to know the money you’re spending is going
back into our very community to help people with the gift of hearing and
communicating.”

For more than 70 years, the Hearing and Speech Center has been
providing aid, support and services to more than 4-thousand children and
adults in Florida. The Center offers programs in speech therapy,
hearing/vision screening, speech-language and occupational therapy
evaluations and therapy, and public speaking classes. The Hearing and
Speech Center also furnishes scholarships to provide economically
disadvantaged children with hearing and speech problems with the
equipment, therapy and services they need to ensure no child is ever
turned away.

More about Justin Osmond: The second son of Merrill & Mary Osmond
was born in Provo, Utah. He has experienced a severe hearing loss from
birth and has been raised wearing hearing instruments. Justin comes
from a very musical background as he got started on the violin at the age
of four and later added the viola, the drums, and the piano. At the age of
16, he began making music with his family and siblings all over the
Rocky Mountain region, plus a regular schedule of dates over a four-year
period at The Osmond Family Theater in Branson, Missouri. Mr. Osmond
earned a prestigious Sterling Scholarship in music to attend Utah State
University where he eventually earned a Bachelors degree in Marketing.
During his educational studies, he was placed on the Honorary Dean’s
List for two consecutive years and was accepted into the National Golden
Key Society, among other distinguished honors. He is also very proud to
represent the BSA as an Eagle Scout.

Mr. Osmond has also participated and helped raise millions of dollars to
help promote hearing health awareness through the annual ‘So the
World May Hear’ Gala and he continues to touch the lives of the hearing
impaired in many special and contributing ways, helping them to reach
their greatest aspirations in life.

Justin lives by his personal motto: “I may have a hearing loss, but that
hearing loss doesn’t have me.”
