Andy Williams will introduce Osmonds

Story Created: Apr 7, 2008
Beginning promptly at 10:30, City Councilman Ralph Manley will
speak to kick off the event. Andy Williams will introduce the Osmond
Family as he has many times.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. with the Chamber
of Commerce, local business leaders, S.E.E. (Signed Entertainment
Enterprises) and several Branson entertainers, including Hamner
Barber, SIX, White House Theater, Bart Rockett and more in
attendance.
A genetic condition, it has affected a number of children in the family,
including Justin Osmond, son of lead singer Merrill Osmond and
spokesman for the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Justin plans to
speak during the news conference.
Knowing firsthand the struggles associated with hearing loss, the
Osmonds have committed to helping people hear better with the
opening of this, the first Osmond Hearing Center. The Center, which
opened in February, is at 1618 Republic Road in Springfield, and
offers free hearing evaluations Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and
Saturdays by appointment.
In addition to the Hearing Center, a fund has been established in
honor of their mother Olive Osmond. The Olive Osmond Perpetual
Hearing Fund accepts hearing devices no longer being used. These
aids will be made new and distributed to underprivileged children.
Financial contributions are also accepted. A portion of all sales from
the Hearing Center are also donated to the fund.
Join Osmond family members Merrill, Jay, Wayne, Justin, Virl and
Tom on this momentous occasion. The meet and greet following the
ribbon cutting will allow time for autographs and pictures with the
family. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The event is
100 percent deaf friendly.
